Acid dyes find use dyeing of wool, silk, nylon, jute, leather, paper etc. and also extensively used for printing of nylon and silk. There are fastness to light and other factors vary from poor to good. On wool they are applied under acidic condition in presence 1-4% acetic acid of formic acid.
